Optigard Cockroach Gel Bait is primarily compounded with emamectin benzoate which works by disrupting cockroach’s nervous and muscular system. This disruption is followed by death which efficiently and effectively wipes out the cockroach within the vicinity covered by the formulation. This produces another crucial tool to adequately and efficiently control cockroaches, all while supported maintenance for resistance management.

Optigard Cockroach Gel Bait is ideal to be partnered with Advion Evolution or Advion Cockroach Gel Bait for rotational management. This rotation strategy was methodically formulated due to cockroach’s ability to quickly adapt to its environment making them immune to almost any pesticide on constant use.

Cockroaches adapt quickly, which is why it's important to rotate gel baits to help manage potential aversion and resistance. Optigard Cockroach Gel Bait along with Advion Evolution or Advion Cockroach, can be used as part of a recommended three-month rotation, which matches the average life cycle of a German cockroach.

Recommended Useage

Apply as a crack-and-crevice or void space treatment using a syringe applicator or a bait injector.

Application rate is dependent on the level of infestation to be controlled:

For light infestations: 1 to 2 spots are recommended per one sq. yd. (9 square feet) of the treatment area

For heavy infestations: 2 to 4 spots are recommended per sq. yd. (9 square feet) of the treatment area

Each bait spot should equal approximately 0.25 to 0.50 grams of product (a spot approximately 3 mm or 1/8 inch in diameter equals 0.25 grams, while a spot approximately 6 mm or 1/4 inch in diameter equals 0.50 grams)

Bait may also be applied as a bead approximately 1/8 inch thick and approximately 2 inches long

Spots or beads should be placed into cracks, crevices, or voids at or near corners or areas where cockroaches forage

Numerous smaller placements will provide faster control than fewer larger spots, especially for German cockroaches

Refer to the Product Label for a complete listing of approved application sites, insects controlled, and product useage.
